CONTESTS

MASSKRUGSTEMMEN
STEINHOLDING

02 US Steinholding Association - color B - transparent background.png

This challenging and fun event tests both your strength and endurance! Each participant will be required to hold a full 1liter stein of Findlay Brewing Company Oktoberfest Beer for as long as possible.

We are thrilled to announce that Oktoberfest Findlay is an official partner and host of the US Steinholding Association. What is Steinholding you ask? Well Steinholding is a traditional Bavarian strength contest in which competitors hold a full one-liter beer stein (or Masskrug/Mass in German) out in front of their bodies with a straight arm, parallel to the ground. You go as long as you can and the last person holding with good form is the winner. It requires strength, stamina, and strong willpower NOT to drink the beer!!

It is loads of fun and will culminate in the qualifiers going to represent Oktoberfest Findlay at the USSA Ohio Steinholding State Championship on Saturday October 14th, 2023 in Hamilton, Ohio!

Men and women will compete against each other in the same time slots. However, a separate men's and women's champion will be recognized at the end of the festival.

Check out the full list of rules here.

Have more questions? Visit the US Steinholding Association FAQ page!

Each participant must hold their full stein at shoulder height, parallel with the ground, as long as possible. If the stein dips and/or your beer spills you will be disqualified. Each contestant will receive a voucher for 32 oz. (one pitcher) of Findlay Brewing Company Oktoberfest beer directly after the contest and a 1liter glass stein at the end of the evening. Please report back to the contest table before leaving to pick up your stein.

You must be 21 or older to compete. You must be present at the event area at your designated time or you will forfeit your spot and entry fee.
